Kirkland Signature Ultra Clean HE Liquid Laundry Detergent is a concentrated, premium-feeling detergent that cleans well and is often compared with Persil and Tide. The enzyme blend gets credit for handling tough stains, including mechanic clothes, and it is also noted for having little to no pungent fragrance. The sale price is described as especially strong, with the deal recurring about every three months and a purchase limit of two. The main caution is that the formula and production are reportedly changing, so stocking up has been a common reaction, and it may foam more than Tide in HE machines if too much is used.

  • The detergent can clean well without a pungent or fragrant smell.

    DisguisedCitrus69

  • The detergent reportedly works effectively on mechanic clothes.

    Marlin1975

  • The detergent may be better in cold water because it includes lipase.

    npolite

  • The detergent can produce more HE bubbles than Tide while still producing less than Persil.

    RelaxedCreature628

  • The manufacturer may stop making it for Costco, which can create uncertainty about future supply or formula changes.

    mickey1987mickey1987

  • The detergent sale has a purchase limit of two units per transaction.

    mickey1987

  • The detergent can produce more foam or bubbles in HE machines compared with Tide.

    RelaxedCreature628

  • The detergent's enzyme performance may be unclear because lipase inclusion is discussed only for liquid Biz and the enzyme status is uncertain.

Consumer reports says it's right below it. I think it was blood that Tide did a better job at. But you can Google consumer reports on Kirkland ultra to read about it

actually, per oz, it has been beaten like 6 times in the last year by amazon s&s sales on arm and hammer+ detergent, and recently was beat per oz with tide ultra oxi boost. however, its still a solid deal for detergent and is usually the best priced when on sale in costco
Show the Deal with Tide. I remember one time but you had to buy 4 bottles.

but I could be wrong

It's actually very comparable to Persil considering it has protease (protein stains like blood, eggs and other body fluids), amylase (starches like sauces) and mannanase (sticky stains like lotions) enzymes just like persil. If you add biz powder you also get lipase that will get your clothes as clean as they can get.

This deal is easily a no brainer.
I believe Lipase is in only the liquid Biz.

EDIT: Is seems that is is better in cold water. I thought I read somewhere that they removed that enzyme but can't find anything now.

It goes on sale every 3 months or so. The regular price hasn't changed for about a year but the company that makes it is going to stop making it for Costco. So if you like it then you should pick up a couple at time. There isn't any information who will be making it for Costco after the change
Do you know when the change is going to happen? The biggest question after the change would be the quality 😔

They didn't say. I just read that a lot of people say they're stocking up when there's a sale just in case they don't like the new formula

the manufacturer of Kirkland Signature laundry detergent is changing because Henkel is exiting the North American retailer brand business. Henkel, known for brands like Persil, is divesting this division to First Quality Enterprises, LLC, marking a transition in production for the popular detergent

what's biz powder?
A powder you can get on amazon, you add it with your clothes (i usually use 1/2 cup) and just use regular detergent as normal. Or you can soak clothes in it.
It does a great job at cleaning sports clothes if you have kids.
Biz powder does contain lipase fyi:
