Standard salted butter is self stable on the counter for 2 weeks without issues (50+ years of experience). Obviously, it can melt during warm summer days. Airtight adds another week or two of life.

I'm blown away that there are people out there looking for double wide butter trays because they haven't looked at a stick of butter and realized that cutting it down the middle makes a standard stick of butter. It's literally just double wide...

Butter Mill for the win, its like a caulk gun for butter. Keeps it fresh and makes it really easy to spread.

Broke the bottom on my "fashionable" ceramic butter dish a while back so I'm shopping. This would be great to keep the cats out of the butter that's usually stored on the countertop. But it's kind of boring, so....

I hadn't heard of this one. I had been considering a Biem butter sprayer: it heats part of the stick then sprays it as an aerosol. The butter Mill looks like it fits my needs better.
