No knocking the product, but there are similar butter dishes available on Amazon for this price or cheaper every day. I paid about $6 for one recently and it doesn't seem to have any flaws.
price is nothing special, has been the same since the history of the listing. another issue is that the container doesn't fit the costco size butter sticks

Can't find one that cheap like this one. Seeing $6.77 so around $7. And not as nice as this one. No side buttons to press to lock or to press to open. Need something to hold onto. Wish I knew your selection.
Please link to yours. Repped in advance.

Is there a reason for air tight? Mine isn't and I've never noticed any issues.
You definitely want to keep butter in something airtight if you're storing it in the refrigerator for any length of time, because butter is quite good at absorbing any odors that may be present there. It doesn't have to be a specialized dish like this, but it really should be isolated from the normal airflow in a fridge. This may be less of a concern with butter substitutes (I don't know), and what you use it for can matter, but real butter can soak up off flavors.

I specifically didn't want one with the button locky things. I have arthritis and wanted to be able to open it with one hand and have no need for it to be that secure, just airtight. Just looked, the one I got https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DQP3D...tle_1&th=1 and the other one I still had on a list both went up in price, now $7.99, was $5.59.

Thank you very much. This is very helpful info. Too bad you were not correct about current pricing, but I can keep a lookout for this same design from any vendor to be less. I like it fine.
You do still have to use one finger to hold the base down, while removing the lid (as shown in the customer videos). At least not two fingers like the one in this thread. Either design is one-hand opening.
I wonder if (over time) the butter gives off gases to push open the seal on these. I currently use a small snap-on lid container that holds about half a stick. It seems that after a couple of days, the lid comes off easier than it should. what's your experience?

Thank you! That's awesome!
Yes, I realize they sell the sticks too. Not at Costco.
