Nikon seems to be playing around with the current refurbished sale prices. Right now, the refurb Z50 with 16-50mm kit lens is showing $499.95. The body alone is a higher price and the two lens kit is almost double the price. I'm not sure what is going on, but I think this matches the price of the Z50 from sales last year.

Note: the Z50II is also available, but at a higher price of $655.11 (body only), $755.95 for single lens kit, and $935.95 for the two lens kit.

If you shoot action the Z50 II is lightyears better by most accounts. FWIW.

I do believe that is exaggerated by the reviewers who had early firmware on the Z50. It has had almost a dozen updates since the original 1.0 version (with many noting improved auto focus). However, the newer processor in the Z50II definitely has advantages with video, and most like the fully articulating screen better.

Keep in mind, the Z50II is noticeably larger than the original.

I dunno, I have a Z6 OG and it's definitely noticeable how bad it is if you use anything but straight up single point AF or shoot things that move in predictable ways without things passing in between you and them. The Eye AF/Auto AF stuff is pretty much useless other than maybe for shooting a family gathering. the new Exspeed 7 cameras are truly next level. I believe the Z50 vs II is similar to the Z6 vs III in those differences in performance.

Ok. I suppose if action is your primary subject, the extra $255 for the K50II kit would reap benefits. I bought my Z50 last year for the compact size. I have been happy with it.

Have you ever tried upgrading the Firmware? The latest firmware should mitigate some of the worst complaints on Autofocusing on the original Z6. Certainly Expeed 7 gives the real improvement, and I am not denying that.
