The S90F stands out as a 65 inch OLED with excellent picture quality, and the open box price looks strong when the unit is truly in good condition. The panel is praised as a major upgrade, with brand new looking units and very low screen time reported on some purchases. The main drawback is Samsung Tizen, which feels less polished than the display itself. Open box Best Buy sets can also be store demos that have run a loop for months, so condition matters. A solid pick if the panel history checks out.
Common Questions (4)
The S90F is favored over the S90H because it keeps QD-OLED, the matte/anti-glare finish, the 165Hz refresh rate, and the faster processor. It is also considered a strong alternative to the LG C5 for buyers who want Samsung's QD-OLED panel.
A refurb S90F from Micro Center was bought for $849.99 and can include a 2-year warranty for $99 more plus a 30-day return period. Another purchase from Samsung came to $945 out the door with a free 2-year warranty, cashback, and 0% PayPal financing.
The S90F's picture quality is described as excellent, and the main downside is Tizen, which can feel less polished than Android TV. For shoppers prioritizing OLED image quality, the display is the standout feature; the software is the tradeoff.
Best Buy open-box TVs, especially last-year models, can be store display units that have run a demo loop for months. That matters because the panel may have significant prior use even if the condition is listed as excellent.
