The S90F stands out as a 65 inch OLED with excellent picture quality, and the open box price looks strong when the unit is truly in good condition. The panel is praised as a major upgrade, with brand new looking units and very low screen time reported on some purchases. The main drawback is Samsung Tizen, which feels less polished than the display itself. Open box Best Buy sets can also be store demos that have run a loop for months, so condition matters. A solid pick if the panel history checks out.
The S90F OLED delivers strong picture quality that makes the open-box purchase worthwhile.
A low screen-time open-box unit can arrive looking brand new after only about six hours of use.
A Micro Center S90F refurb option can cost less than $988 while adding a two-year warranty and a 30-day return window.
The S90F can offer QD-OLED performance advantages over WOLED-only S90H models.
Tizen software can be a major drawback compared with expectations for Samsung smart TV platforms.
Best Buy open-box units may be store display TVs that run a demo loop for months.
Samsung pricing with EPP can rise significantly, which can reduce the value of waiting for discounts.
The S90F deal may be less compelling if you can find a comparable LG C5 alternative with a long warranty at a similar price.

I would lose the matt finish and anti glare of the S90H as well as the 165hz and faster processor though. I will take until September to drop to $1700 like the S90F did.
I'm replacing a 10.5 year old Sony XBR, so either would be an upgrade, but I plan to keep for a decent amount of time.
