Glad one of the product images shows max desk thickness it'll work on, because it won't work on mine. Can see why it'd be helpful for other people, though

I paid $17.28 in November 2024 for it. Nice to see some things dropping in price. I may grab another.

I wish it had a deeper reach. Our desk is 1.5" thick and has a taper on the top of the edge, this doesn't look like it will grip without slipping on the taper. Not that it will even fit the thickness. It won't even handle the taper on the rear of the monitor we'd like to use it on.

I picked up one in black the last time it was on SD. I fitted it to the top of my work monitor. Super handy.

It does have silicone on the ends, so... It might. But - no promises from me.

Picked one up the other day, works great! I have a glass desk and none of these usually work on it, this one surprisingly does (likely because the softer silicone end). Glass lip is very thin, probably thinner than the "minimum" that they list, so very happy it works!

I have one of these. Its very convenient. The only thing I dislike is it leaks light in a dark room even when the computer is off.

I got the one that has the SD/MicroSD slot. Attached it to a metal frame piece of my desk. It works perfectly!

Wow. Couldn't reproduce this but got silver for 11.86 and black for 10.50. The additional 5% for two items didnt stack with the 30% but I'll take it.

I have this and I must say... If the bottom of the back of your monitor is curved at all or textured with smooth matte plastic like most monitors are, this will slip and fall. The rubber piece at the end of the clamp is on the clamp with a weak adhesive. I had to remove the rubber piece and add superglue to the end of the screw clamp and put the rubber piece back. And then find an actual flat part of the monitor.

I will say though that I was trying to clamp it to one end of my 2k curved monitor or the side of a regular 1080p in portrait (bottom when rotated) and it was what made it slip no matter how much I tightened it. I ultimately have it clamped to the middle of my curved monitor where the plastic of the input box is flat reletively to the front.

Edit.. As for performance, it does what it says. Needs independent power though ( from wall adapter, not pc)

Thanks for the info. I was considering clamping one to an older iMac and was worried about the curve on the back of the monitor --apparently a justified concern.
I like that power injection can be done with USB-C on these. My older powered hubs require a slim barrel connector and I'm two cases wound up pulling off the circuit board from a tiny connection and a long connector providing significant leverage.
