I personally don't get why anyone would care to spend more than $25-30 to get the 4100 series on sale versus this or any of the other higher end Sonicare brushes. Do you really need to track your brushing data in an app, and have extra modes that don't really impact how clean your teeth get? Searching the differences between 4100 and 7300 I got this data:

4100 = simple and works

* One mode, minimal decisions
* Pressure sensor + timer = covers the essentials
* Great if you just want to brush properly and move on

7300 = more features, not more clean

* Different modes for gums/whitening
* App shows missed spots, habits, etc.
* Better if you like data or have specific gum concerns

Can anyone speak to why you might want to spend 3x more for this brush when you get the same clean teeth by the end when compared to the 4100 model?

Unless you buy an old style 4100 off of ebay the new ones are terrible. They are smaller, lighter and have weaker motors. You need to at least find a 5100 or above if you want the powerful motor. Even the 5100's have been discontinued so any you find in the wild are old stock. It was replaced with the 5300, which is also discontinued. I think the 5700 is the current baseline model to get and it retails for $80. The cheaper Sonicares are no longer just as good as the more expensive ones. I can personally attest to this since I recently bought a new 4100, with the weak motor, for my mom and she hated it so I had to get her a 5100 which she loves. I got stuck with the 4100 which sure it was 20 bucks but for 30 I could buy a 7300 handle off of ebay which is a far superior unit, although probably refurbished.

This is why I love the comments on here, thanks. I recently got a cheap one on Amazon and it takes over a day to fully charge it and feel I have to charge it almost weekly.

The only cheapy ones I would even consider is something like the Aquasonic because those have been tested and approved by the American Dental Association. Alot of other brands, maybe they are too cheap to pay for the approval process, but it makes me suspicious of their janky toothbrushes.
