They've been offering this for me forever, like 2 years now. I always read the terms though and still confused when I'm supposed to not qualify. My Internet is definitely not 300 Mbps.

If I ever do use this, wonder what will happen.

No, but if it's tied to a device payment or Internet plan, it's effectively a two year contract.

Why is it a 2 year contract? Can't you bring your own device and just use it for 1 year?

I never claimed the offer. I'm simply stating they've been trying to make me claim it for over 2 years. Every time I logged in to check rewards I'd see it saying "Claim your free line" etc.

I'm just finishing up the year out from this and planing on porting my number out. First month they do charge you and I I think there is an activation fee.

Hotspot seemed to be less speed that the speed on the phone.

There is indeed a $25 activation fee for the 1st month. Rest of the year there was roughly $2.4 fee per month

Xfinity Mopile byod whitelist is quite limited. pretty much forcing you to get a device from them. they reject many of the unlocked 5G phones from Verizon at IMEI checking step

I've thought about doing this deal and always wondered what taxes and/or fees were going to be charged on a monthly basis... is this $2.40/month per much across the board for everyone?

I've been getting a free line from Xfinity for about 2 years now. Their promo system is scammy so sometimes the free line promo doesn't automatically apply so my credit card gets charged and I need to call them to return the funds. I've learned to use a cancelled credit card now so they literally can't charge me. But the free line works and is useful for a 2nd phone line.
