Are these any better than like a Eufy from a privacy perspective? Like could I set these up to only show up through my home network and not be routed through company servers?

Deal is still on the site but the coupon code seemed to be maxed out for me.

I have one in my backyard and it's quite disappointing. Low quality image and small field of view. I have the duo 2 over my driveway and it's pretty amazing.

Why does reolink insist on split squid type connector.

80 degrees by 48 degrees. Very narrow but a lot of people prefer this over extremely wide angle where not necessary. I rather have good image than wide but nothing clear. How bad is picture quality?

Just about all POE cameras are like that.

They don't have just one jack in?

POE Reolink are the best cameras out there as far as value and compatibly. Great support with HA and ONVIF.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. They normally have the RJ45 and a 5.5mm for power if you don't use POE.

If it's POE why not just single jack, they do this so you can use it if you don't have POE switch? Other issue you have to make a bigger hole and have short lead, otherwise leaving these outside exposes it no? I'm just thinking single rj45. No? Is it unreasonable? I used to have zmodo, very low end set for nvr and 4 cams for $200. That came with some random sPOE that actually used 2 out of 4 twisted pairs for power and other 2 for data.. Seemed very intuitive to me but yes those are budget cams.

Correct, the 5.5mm jack is for power if you don't have a POE switch. The POE used in your zmodo is very similar to POE IEEE 802.3af/at used in these cameras. As far as the hole, yes normally all those jacks and stuff go either behind the mounting point or in a camera junction box like these...

If I don't use a junction box I normally mount the camera over the hole so no wires are showing.

Thanks, I was thinking of just putting those behind the wall for some reason. Thanks for the suggestion that makes sense. Now if I can find a good one that can work with synology Nas for local storage but use own system for Ai detection etc, we'd be all set. Smilie

np.... look into frigate and google coral for local AI stuff if the cameras don't have it. It's probably out of reach for most folks but if you go all in, you can do some pretty cool stuff.

These get 2-3 firmware updates tops. They are notorious for leaving old cameras behind. They claimed they would add pet support and never did. The doorbells are great so far. They have had more updates than domes and bullets
