I had picked 2 for about $139 at my local store some 6 months ago or so. Installed it myself one on the main front door & another at the garage door. The locks work fine with Yale App & also with my Google home app, the biggest downside of this lock is that it drains the 4 AAs like super crazy. After 2 months I had to buy some rechargeable batteries to go with these. If batteries weren't an issue with these locks, these would have been really great.

I had my doubts about it working with Ring, I checked with AI and the response was: The Wi-Fi version of the Assure Lock 2 is not currently compatible with Ring, requiring a specific Z-Wave module for Ring Alarm pairing. In short, this won't work with Ring system.

Remove the Google Home connection and your batteries should last longer. This was my experience years ago. I just use the August app now.

Thanks for sharing this. Most WiFi locks have the same problem.

Same. I used to use the Costco Duracell batteries. Eats the power up within a month even if barely using it. Went through the entire pack in less than a year. Then I installed Energizer LITHIUM ION batteries. Been 3 months and still says "100% sufficent"

Consumer locks are quite easily pickable. You're better off without one. You can stash a 9v battery somewhere in case you need to power it up if the internal batteries die on you while you're on vacation. Then again, if something fails electronically, you're screwed...

I don't have this model, but I have Yale x Nest smart lock and I get over 2 years of service on it. I kept logs since I installed in 2020. This is in Wisconsin winters too.
2025-12-28: low battery warning. Replaced with generic disposables this time 3500mah ones. (1024 days 2.75 years)
2023-03-19: Low battery warning. Changed battery. (543 Days)
2021-09-22: Replaced batteries. A month of low battery warning had passed.
Installed 2020-06-28 with included batteries.

As the owner of a escape room chain, we're pretty familiar with locks. Yale locks are some of the best made locks and door handles out there. Even their keys are substantially beefier (even though this one doesn't have a key). Their mechanisms within the lock and door handles are always substantially stronger and much better engineered than comparable brands.
We spec out Yale door handles in our businesses for passage and front door locks because they easily last past 10 years of use without metal fatigue or failure like some of the cheap no name handles and locks. Commercial businesses get a lot more actuations and require substantially higher MTBF.
If I didn't already have a pretty strong home install businessesbase with schlage/lockly, i'd be all over this for my home.
As for the battery life, the majority of smart locks typically have serious battery issues, especially those with Wi-Fi capability. Luckily our envelope rechargeables seem to work for two to three months with our locks before being chance/recharge. We get the same with Energizer from Costco so we reverted back to rechargeables. As others mentioned in other posts, the only drawback to rechargeables is an incorrect voltage reading once the battery near end of life (sharp drop off) how to mention some locks do not work with rechargeables lower 1.2 V.

I'd rather stay a key on my keyring than a 9v battery outside on my property
