I bought the Greenworks push mower on exactly the same advise a few years ago, replacing a gas self-propel, and this was a stupid move. Still looking for decently priced self-propel 80V which this one definitely isn't.
There were 2-batteries Greenworks slef-propelled deals for under $300 in the past, but for now this is an OK deal.

All my equipment is gasoline now. Anybody know about how long the batteries last before going bad? I live in a hot climate that tends to eat batteries for lunch. Even car batteries don't last more than about 3 years here.
I'm in the Ego battery ecosystem, and have one 7.5Ah unit that went bad after about 2 years (it's not dead, but its overheat/overload protection activates somewhat randomly, and it won't always recharge correctly.) Customer service walked me through a quick troubleshooting procedure to confirm it was faulty, then shipped me a replacement.
All my others are still near original capacity after 3–5 Texas summers.

There is always the need for assistance for a TON of people.
My yard is 100% hill. A push mower is terrible.
