I bought the Greenworks push mower on exactly the same advise a few years ago, replacing a gas self-propel, and this was a stupid move. Still looking for decently priced self-propel 80V which this one definitely isn't.
There were 2-batteries Greenworks slef-propelled deals for under $300 in the past, but for now this is an OK deal.
Community Reviews
Kobalt's 80V self propelled mower is being treated as a strong cordless option for yards that need more than a basic push mower, with clean cuts, good power, and noticeably quieter operation than gas. The shared 5Ah battery system is a plus for owners who already use Kobalt 80V tools, and the mower is described as easy to use once the rear wheel drive behavior is understood. Battery life is the main watchout, especially in thick grass, hot weather, or larger yards, where extra batteries may help. The deal also drew price adjustment and rebate chatter that could bring the cost down further.

My yard is small, and have several outdoor outlets in the yard. I might take a look at Corded Electric. I know it is a bit of a hassle with the cord, but would be cheaper and would basically last forever.
How is the battery life if you have this?
Thanks
All my equipment is gasoline now. Anybody know about how long the batteries last before going bad? I live in a hot climate that tends to eat batteries for lunch. Even car batteries don't last more than about 3 years here.
I have 3 batteries so I'm able to use one, charge and continue on and finish my yard on 5 batteries, but they're 2ah to begin with.
