Certainly not a terrible boot, but I keep passing on this deal due to the lack of waterproofing.

The only times I'd want to wear something like this would be (light) hiking, rain, or snow...and the lack of waterproofing kind of kills it.

Hate waterproofing for hiking shoes, but I'm in the desert. If I was in constant rain like in the PNW or something maybe I would like it.

Breathability is better in shoes without it usually.

Bought these at a large bargain type store for me for $35. They aren't bad at all. Been using for gardening after light ice fishing and they are not too clunky. Idk if I'd hike miles in them though.
