You'll have to make a LOT of pasta to break even. 1lb of dried pasta is around $1-1.50 retail. Less if you buy bulk.

I don't disagree, but what bulk options are out there? Thinking commercial bags? I have a standalone pasta maker and knew, after one time, buying is the way to go unless you want to do this for fun.

I have this attachment and it works well, takes a bit of practice but is definitely high quality and craftsmanship. I agree it's not for economics, but more for the hobbyists.
