They have the Gen 1 and a Gen 2 Available. I chose to go with the Series 10 GPS + Cellular for like $250

Yes and no. It's definitely bulkier, I use mine to track sleep stuff. the Series 10 has a newer chip than the Gen 1 Ultra.

I really don't need all the features of Ulta in my case. Causal watch that tracks basic sleep/exercise.

The Ultra 1 has basically the same CPU as the Series 8. I would not purchase one unless I really wanted the battery life/larger model/sapphire and could not afford a Series 9 or Ultra 2+.

The Series 9-11 and Ultra 2 and 3 basically have the same CPU and they support almost exactly the same feature sets with some minor differences. I have a S9 stainless that I bought used and have zero plans on upgrading until there is CPU that supports new (likely health) features I want.

I have a stainless Series 9 from Woot for $250. Best Apple Watch I ever owned. Steal.

I feel like buying Ultra (1 or 2) in a high quality refurb is clearly the way to go. Huge savings and not much of any drawback from new if the battery is legit.
