Respectfully disagree. I've had one for about 4 years and it's great. They have a use, and perform well with some tuning. They are not 0 maintenance, but great once honed in.

Looks good, but such a tiny water reservoir. I'd be filling that thing multiple times a day!

I've been shouting this from rooftops but avoid super automatics like the plague. Most are very vulnerable to mold if they keep wet pucks in a dark box/their brew units are internal vs something with a portafilter

Maybe it is just a problem with Philips machines? I had a 3400 that I felt like I could never clean the brew unit fully. Always grounds stuck somewhere, and mold forming in deep crevices

The brew unit is very difficult to clean. I got a cruddy firm tooth brush to clean the insides out. And they do a remarkably bad job with their videos identifying how to grease the brew unit.

This looks great. Bosch has impressed me with other appliances like dishwashers. Makes me curious to know how this would perform!

Interesting. I felt this way and bought both a Bosch dishwasher and fridge:
The dishwasher does an incredibly good job of cleaning. But it has some curiously weak plastic pieces that like to fall off. Otherwise it's solid. Can't complain.
But the fridge is kind of a joke. Its flaws are:
  • the ice dispenser door will regularly close with ice in the chute. The little ice door closes all the way so you can't tell but that ice is no longer "in" the freezer so it melts and drips. All the time.
  • The door seal is backwards from what any reasonable person would choose. The side with the ice and water dispenser is the "outer" door and from that side you can't open any drawers, and there is hardly any door storage. The other door is the "clunk" door and is the one you open 90% of the time you need to open just one. And the clunk is ridiculous. Feels like and sounds like it's gonna break any minute. Even had the Bosch guy come out and he said it's normal…
So I'm going to take a critical eye to Bosch stuff. It can be hit or miss.

I have a Philips 3200 that I got in July 2022 and haven't had a single issue with it when it's used correctly. I clean the brew group every few weeks--rinse and dry, takes 60 seconds. Clean out the inside with a paper towel, another 60 seconds. Replace the aqua filter every 3-6 months. Best coffee machine I've ever owned. Not the best coffee necessarily, but the easiest machine I've ever used to make very good coffee from beans of my own choosing. (Nespresso is the easiest of all and makes excellent coffee, but I don't like Nestle and I want to use locally roasted, fair-trade, organic beans. So the Philips super automatic is the machine for me.)

There are some deep crevices in that machine you can't clean out that quickly, if I remember correctly the spot where the grounds pull out where it attaches to the machine there is a deep thin gap that is breeding grounds for mold. I did not even know the gap existed til I did a super deep clean to sell it. It's about 5mm of an opening goes all the way across and back into the machine. Also you can apparently remove the brew head and clean that, I could never figure it out, I can't even imagine what mine would look like opening it up. There is a video on how to do it but it's on another language. After owning it for a few years and having mold in it I had to sell it

I did love the machine, SUPER easy and quick. Ended up with the ninja luxe cafe pro which is little harder to use but way better tasting and no internal traps to worry about

I have the saeco xelsis for 7 years. Philips purchased saeco. Still works great. Just rinse the brew unit. You can also put the brew unit and bin in the dishwasher. Just need to use food grease every few months if you do that
Love that I can save various family members and custom drinks.
Probably have over 7000 drinks made and it still works just as smoothly as ever. No issues
I'd say the weak point is if you live a thick foam. This makes it more wet but it's adjustable if you don't like foam or want to tweak other specs
