Insane value. Youre getting a flagship CPU and flagship chipset motherboard for less than the cost of a WORSE 9950x (and with no motherboard).
Yes LGA1851 (motherboard socket) is likely going to get replaced next gen, but this CPU will last you like 7+ years before you'll want to replace it. Look at the CPU in your system today and how hold it is, 99% of people dont upgrade every generation. AM5 is also coming to an end, AM6 is expected to release in 2027-2028 and AMD releases CPUs every 2 years, so AM5 has 1 last CPU and then its obsolete too.
The only real pain point is DDR5 pricing, but again, every modern system uses it and the prices arent going to change anytime soon.
If youre looking to build/upgrade this is one of the better deals you can go with.

Looks like they reduced the price on the CPU so the combo is even cheaper.

CPU was nowhere ever for $299 the lowest price ever was the day it came out for $319.99 at Newegg who then upped the price by a lot. I'm not even going to talk about the Motherboard that would be 500+ if it wasn't intel at the moment. It's a high end motherboard getting that for $155 is no good?

CPU has onboard GPU, which was important to me anyway. Just some info for if you didn't know that.
Wish chips had enough onboard memory to use without buying memory right now.

seems pretty good deal and performance, but the dead platform needs to be included in decision.

I don't understand the dead end comment, you guys said this was dead end years ago and there will not be any more CPU coming for this socket. But they just released the plus series and performance improvement is way more than am5 7xxx to 9xxx.

How do you know they won't be releasing more cpus for this socket? You guys have been wrong once already

Incredible value for a top of the line CPU along with a high end motherboard. If it weren't for the RAM and storage nonsense going on this would be a no brainer for anyone wanting to build a performant desktop. Even if Intels next chips and socket are a big leap forward (which it looks like they might be) it's unlikely you'll find this kind of performance at this price for a long time

Yeah... It looks like Intel comeback will be ruined by AI insiable hunger for RAM and storage 😦

A refresh was always planned, who are "you guys"? This is that refresh. The only change has been the MSRP assigned to each SKU, since Intel is in rough shape right now. Nova Lake is still planned for Q4, and unlike AMD, Intel has no plans another refresh on this socket.

The deal is fine, the CPU is $300 and the board is $300. Gigabyte always sent me the Master line for reviews, it's not quite the high end, but better than the Eagle and Elite SKUs. The only issue is for the DIY frequent upgraders, dead end socket and all, with Nova Lake in months. Also, most would be fine with a $300-350 250K Plus combo, when those start showing up.

Awesome deal. If RAM and SSD prices weren't insane I would bite on this deal. I guess I could use my existing DDR5 6000 RAM and storage from my 12700k rig. Who knows if or when DDR5 7200 RAM will ever be affordable.

Isn't the Master the highest Tier Boards Gigabyte have? I mean sure I have a Master Top AI which is E-ATX and has more here and there but M.2 slot less but in the end are they not all the High End Boards from Gigabyte in performance and build quality? If it wasn't Intel the board would be $500+
