I checked it using ADB, for those that aren't familiar it would be easier to google "how to check android battery health and capacity using adb", you'll find a bunch of tutorials and videos. Quick rundown, it consists of turning on the developer mode, turning on adb setting, downloading something on your computer, firing up a terminal and running "adb shell dumpsys battery"
mSavedBatteryAsoc will give you the reading of the associated state of charge as a percentage of its maximum capacity.
If you don't want to do all this, the most accurate app I've found to estimate battery health is accubattery but it needs to go through 5 charge cycles to get a decent estimate.
Edit: I won't go through 5 battery cycles on a Tracfone so didn't want to waste my time any further with that app (lol).
These require 12 months of active service before they are eligible to be unlocked per the new rules. It used to be 2 months and since the time since this change was introduced hasn't passed the one year mark, I believe no one has gone through the new process yet. If your reading it of their website, it might be that yes it CAN be unlocked, but you need to meet the year if service requirements prior to that. What website are you using btw?
I bought this deal and can confirm it is a much better phone - no problems multitasking and after a year it can unlock from the TracFone network. Motorola does not come with the six years of updates, however. Otherwise, if you are ok with sticking with a less secure phone come 2027, the performance is almost better than my main phone (the moto g stylus 24).
(And to anyone who does financials or medical on their mobile phone....well, they shouldn't. It's inherently insecure by its very nature. It's a dainty glass-coated device -- sometimes on both sides. Carried 5+ feet off the ground (or less if you're short). And a target for thieves. Now they're saying it won't get updates and be even LESS secure with software. None that is worth any convenience of staring at bank balance on-the-go.)

I was trying to find how long one can wait before activating. Doing a general search, I can only find results from over 2 years ago, and they vary, with some saying you must activate within 60 days to get the promo minutes/texts, another saying you had 6 months, and another saying 1 year from purchase.
Given that uncertainty and the reviews above, I'm not buying.
