Yes, there are faster CPUs. But almost nobody is using everything a 2020 Ryzen 5 can do. It's just bragging rights.

In laymans terms, some people like the things they like because it works for them. Just because it works for them doesn't mean it will work for others or you.
I have 2 older brothers with Computer Science degree's, they couldn't be any more different in technology choices.
One is team Google, Pixel, and Linux.
One is team Iphone, MacOS, Brave Browser.
Everyone has their reasons and preferences, no need to force it on others and/or defend yourself/choices.
I will say, the brother that is team Apple is more pragmatic, he really is a person that will use any tool to do the job, and do it well.
