It's kind of crazy how this webcam is coming up on 15 years since its release, and it still shows up as one of the highly recommended webcams on a bunch of ratings and comparison sites. I mean I still have, and use, mine... Maybe even more now, since I use its built-in mic for my desktop when I'm feeling too lazy to type lol.

6 years ago they were selling these for $20 at Staples. I'm so upset by 2026.

The vastly better deal on Woot is this one: https://computers.woot.com/offers...XUQAvD_BwE. MUCH better optics and mircophone plus zoom and integrated shutter. A complete steal at 2 for @20

A few others are reporting issues with autofocus, ended up disabling autofocus. If so, then it becomes a fixed focus like my $13 webcam.

Users reported that it has a bad mic. Good for others who uses a separate mic, not the built-in mic.

I was going to say, generally the mic has been poorly reviewed, but definitely not a bad camera. I'd personally prefer a 2k or 4k if I had my own choice, but these are all awesome cameras these days if you just need a decent camera for office use and even for streaming etc... Just to your point... get a separate mic for better audio with your audience.

Yes, some reviews reported this. The same review did not mention that the issue had been fixed, and there was a (free) software update to fix for earlier buyers. The microphones on both of my units work superbly
