Amazon Basics RJ45 Cat-6 Ethernet Patch Cable, Gold-Plated, 10 feet (3 m), 6 Pack of 24, 144 Count Total, Black $81.57.
Much more appealing to me. Beowulf this!

I probably have 30-40 machines I could put on such a network, and even so, 144 cat 6 ethernet cables that are 10 foot long apiece is a little excessive. But fun to think about

someone can use it though.
Trust me, I WANT to buy it. I can't justify it though.

I've been looking for an excuse to hang out in the basement garage area this summer. I have enough routers and switches to hook this together. Not enough nodes for 144 of them, but could. It might be haphazard, but great reason to go through old equipment, see what works, and maybe get rid of some stuff. I also have a use case for a cluster.
It wouldn't replace getting one cable for a 1000 ft run, but I wouldn't be too happy crimping that many connectors just to plug things in a few feet away either.
It will be fun. I'll keep the family out of the basement. They won't even know (lol).
