I prefer having two straps on my backpacks. That way, you can still use them with one strap, but you can switch to two straps when the load is heavy, or you have to travel further, or your back is bothering you. A one strap design seems limiting.

Agreed, I don't mind one strap on a smaller bag, but this seems a bit too close to "backpack" sized territory for a single strap
