I was just about to order a xg27acmg (1440p 240hz) for my son before I saw this post. Would this be considered a better monitor and more future proof for gaming?

if you for some reason want 2K and 255hz with 0.03ms, select best buys have open-box for as low as $126 or so. strix, model XG27ACMES. monitors unboxed rates the XG27ACS very well, this one can't be "too" far off.

Adding more incentive to this route: for a 27" monitor, and assuming the son's current desktop gaming setup is around ~2-2.5' viewing distance, 1440p is a good resolution to settle on to look into higher refresh rate and response time options. This is also assuming the dad is trying to maximize on $300 or under.

It jumped to $400. Was it really a good deal at $300? AI told me that the QC dell was better
