I feel pretty comfortable using some things past expiration dates because it doesnt mean it is bad, but that is just following certain guidelines.
Im not giving advice to people to eat expired things, but the amount of people that freak out about it is pretty weird.
For example I was told by someone they swore they ate expired yogurt and they felt like their were sick/getting sick.
For anyone thats ever had bad yogurt... youll know that you would never eat it.
First you would see mold or that it is very different looking. Second, you can smell it.
Third, if you still took a bite, it would taste disgusting and you would spit it out immediately.
If you still ate it after that, well id say you have more things to worry about than expired stuff.
Community Reviews
Duke's Real Mayonnaise is praised for its tangier Southern-style flavor, with a richer egg yolk and vinegar profile than Hellmann's or Best Foods. It also gets credit as a strong value here, especially against recent mayo price increases and the usual higher shelf price. The main caution is freshness, since multiple bottles arrived with close dates, smudged expiration labels, or fully separated contents that would not remix. A solid pick if the dates are clear and the bottles arrive intact.
The mayo flavor can deliver a tangier profile compared with Hellmann's or Best Foods.
The 3-pack pricing can look unusually low versus prior 3-pack pricing and local per-bottle pricing.
The squeeze bottles can be useful for rebuilding a broken emulsion at home.
The deal can be attractive because mayo prices rose during the egg shortage and stayed elevated.
Expiration dates can be close, and smudged or unreadable dates can make it harder to verify freshness.
Orders can arrive with oil separated from the white and may not remix even after shaking.
Amazon shipments can include clearance or near-past-expiration items without clear labeling, which can lead to customer frustration.
The discount can signal near-expiration product, so the purchase may carry a freshness risk.
