I had a Spectral 6 years ago and it was a good bike. This is a base model and you can ride the parts off it or take everything off and upgrade and sell what's on it now as new takeoffs. Either way, with this price, you would be hard-pressed to lose money.
They are right. Yes, unassisted riding is more demanding, but riding an eMTB (or any pedal assist bike with no throttle) is a good exercise for those that otherwise would be sitting on their behind, behind a screen.
