Good price, but I wish that they would just improve the basic UI for selecting time / temp / cook method rather than having buttons for random types of food. Instant does a better job with their rotary knob

You actually use the preset options? Everything I've ever cooked has been manual mode for a given time and temperature.

Never. I'm saying exactly the same thing you're saying - nix the million useless preset buttons and give good controls for the basic time / temp / cooking mode.

Instant does a pretty good job with their wheel:

(Even at the $148 coupon price it's a lot of money though)

The reason I'm on this thread is because I initially thought this was the Instant model due to the word Vertex, but I guess other companies use that word too.

Very good price for a name-brand, extra-large air fryer.

THIS!
Once you've had the rotary knob, you'll never want to go back to these. I bought a spare for backup way back when I got a good deal on a 2nd one. I'm currently trying to find something to use my 20% off TGT Circle coupon for. This won't do.

You can find deals on them on eBay sometimes.

I'd probably switch to a spring timer dial model if I couldn't have a nice rotary knob style with the LED display.

Changing time and temp by small increments with each press is almost unbearable.

Since the Instapot Vortex keeps coming up, how does the performance of this Vortex model compare to the Instapot Vortex?

I have an older Instapot Vortex that I absolutely love but I didn't take care of it so it needs replacing. I was blown away by how much better the Instapot vortex was compared to other no-name air fryers and "Air fryer ovens" I had tried.

Controls aside does the model in this deal cook as well as the Instapot version? I remember thinking the Instapot was an absolute volcano compared to cheaper models I had used.

They're everywhere when it comes to air fryer. Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Target, etc. Owned 3 of them in my family for almost a decade now. Haven't had any issues with quality. If you're not careful, just like with any other cookware, you can wear out the non-stick coating. But that's easily manageable with air fryer liners and good old tinfoil.
