I carry one as a self defense tool. It also makes it easy to positively identify an attacker with tenderizer spike marks on their forehead.

I bought this last time, it worked great on tough meat cuts to tenderize, and it's become my favorite garlic peeling tool, thwack and peel and toss it in the pot.

I fully endorsed this tool, it's a good weight and a nice grip, maybe a little small if you gotta make dinner for 6 or whatever, but it's great for 1-2 people.

Watch out for the spiky end, it'll mark up a cutting real good.
