Thanks. I checked the store because of this and saw AC Origins Deluxe and its Season Pass (becoming the $100 Gold Edition) were on sale for under $20.

An excellent game for people who want 15 hours of solid content, then want to do the same 15 hours of content like 4 more times.

Oh, I liked this one. End game is repetitive. But world exploration of ancient Greece was pretty cool and fighting was fun.

So its like a 75 hour game that starts good but gets repetitive?

I haven't played an AC game since Black Flag, but the positive reviews have me considering this one at this price. The last Ubisoft game I played was Far Cry 6 and it was awful. Like nothing about it was particularly bad but it was terribly repetitive and it definitely lacked the magic that the older Far Cry games had. I felt obligated to finish it but it felt like a chore.

I'm getting excited about the AC series again because they're remaking black flag. Looks really nice too

I thought this game was pretty solid, as long as you're mostly following the plot and not getting too distracted trying to do a completionist run of every side quest. End game was a little hit or miss, but I thought the Fate of Atlantis dlc was phenomenal, and a great closing chapter.

I recently beat this game on my Xbox and enjoyed it. I put well over 100 hours into it. It's much longer than it should be, so I recommend taking occasional breaks to play other games, but I did find the DLC to be uniquely different from the rest of the game and worth the extra money.

If you wanted a grab-a-flatcart-sized Costco pack of Assassin's Creed, this is where it's at. The main game gives you a ton to do, and the DLCs (especially the last one) transport you entirely elsewhere. It's bloated in a good way, as long as you're not hyper-fixated (or you're comfortable being so) it's a genuine Odyssey that takes you through a sweeping story and has you travel miles of terrain and scattered islands, with fun ship battles and a more light-hearted tinge than some of the other games in the series. It might lack the tighter stealth focus of the previous iterations, but the mostly-optional smorgasbord of activities on offer helps keep it enjoyable.

AC Odyssey is pretty repetitive, but the overall gameplay loop is fun. If you haven't played any AC game since Black Flag, and if you wanted to play one of the more modern RPG-ish style AC games that has a tighter storyline with less repetition, then I'd recommend AC Origins. Even then...you'll still find a lot of repetition. Although I hear AC Mirage might fit what you're looking for too, I just haven't played it yet.
