Almost 4 years in to daily wearing a Garmin and never a hint of whatever you're talking about.

You can try buying a plastic port cover. I see them in Amazon or Aliexpress.

almost every seller of garmin usb cables throws in silicon charge port covers as a freebie
since I have to buy a new cable every year (the cable wears out but not the port fortunately) I've got a whole stack of those little covers
this is just an example, these were just $1 a cable and the covers were free
there are so many annoying missing features and bugs on Garmin watches nowthere is absolutely no way I would ever recommend someone spend $650 on onetry a $200 Venu3 refurb before you go crazy like thisI am not sure what happened to Garmin but it all changed after 2020it's like they got rid of all their best developers and said "frack it"

Eh, it absolutely can happen if you're regularly active (i.e. sweating) and don't wash the back of the watch where the charging port is every now and then (because.. bacterial growth).
I'm good about washing my 935 nowadays, but over the course of ~7 years and **checks app** 14,672 miles of running (it justifies my awful diet), it has most definitely happened to me a few times.
All I remember is some slight itching though, nothing really all that bad.

try a $200 Venu3 refurb before you go crazy like this
I am not sure what happened to Garmin but it all changed after 2020
it's like they got rid of all their best developers and said "frack it"
