Is this similar to a music man type? $228 is a fair price, though $350 feels a little pricey for affinity level.

I have a Chinese Modern Player jazz and I'm going to assume it's sort of a similar deal. Great bass but it's an absolute boat anchor.... close to 10lbs.

Not super comparable but I got rid of a VM Jag Bass just recently. The Duncan designed PJ sounded fine, nothing special, but I wasn't a fan of the stacked pots, even though I thought they sounded cool on paper.

This is a medium scale (32" as opposed to 30" short scale or 34" full scale). I have it in pink. It is my lightest bass. I thought the stock pickup was too dark and muddy, so I replaced it with a Seymour Duncan SMB-4A (wired it so I could coil split) and upgraded the bridge to a badass II. I think all in is cost me $500-$600 and is my favorite playing & sounding bass. Ended up selling my more expensive basses that were between $1500-$2000. I gig with it. Gets the job done really well and I don't feel like I have to baby it.

It's different from a MM stingray because the pickup is where a P bass pickup would be, not near the bridge like a MM. Low End Lobster on youtube has some video demos and upgrades

Great price. The Affinity line of guitars and basses used to be $250 but they have been drastically increasing in price, along with everything else. Now they're $350+ so if you are interested in this bass, you are definitely getting a great deal.
