Community Reviews
Edifier MR3 is a compact pair of powered studio monitors aimed at accurate desktop listening and modest TV use, with Bluetooth 5.4, an 18 watt RMS rating, a 3.5 inch midbass driver, and a 1 inch tweeter. The sound is described as fine for computer and Bluetooth use, with a flat, reference style presentation rather than heavy bass. The small cabinets and limited loudness keep them from filling a larger room, and the bass can feel thin or tinny even when turned up. A practical pick if you want nearfield speakers more than big, room shaking sound.
Common Questions (4)
They are not designed for heavy bass, and max volume is not especially loud. Several comments describe the sound as tinny or not impressive, while others note that studio monitors are meant to stay relatively flat rather than emphasize bass.
They are good fairly accurate desktop speakers and can work for TV use at modest volumes. With 3.5" woofers, they are not built to fill a larger room or produce deep bass.
The MR4 is the more commonly recommended step up if you want a better Edifier monitor option. One commenter chose the MR4 over the MR3 and has been happy with it.
The MR3 pair uses 18W RMS amplification, a 3.5" midbass driver, and a 1" tweeter. Those small drivers explain why they are aimed at accurate nearfield listening rather than big bass output.

I know it's a different model, but these reference speakers in the OP should actually be superior for that intended purpose than what I am using now from Edifier.
When I bought them, the Edifiers G1500 MAX 2.1 were about $150. They are $99, and if I had to buy them again, I would.
I don't have anything negative to say about this brand based on my about 3-4 months of use with these speakers.

These are good fairly accurate desktop speakers or for use with a TV at modest volumes.
No speaker with 3.5" woofers will 'blow' anyone away nor will any speaker with small 3.5" woofers ever have much bass or deep bass to fill any kind of larger space.
These are good for what they are.
