They sell that same exact version in Japan and it's very common. Yeah, hash browns are popular over there, hence the dedicated button on this quartz toaster oven (It actually does work really good on those frozen patty hash browns though for a single or double with breakfast haha).

I had that one for 6 years now since COVID. Used few times a day at least to cook random food and/or heating things up. IT gets beat up. First time it died few years ago was the door switch. I bought another same model switch on ebay and wasn't that hard to change.
Next thing went was the light bulb. That was much easier to change.
Few weeks ago the unit turns on but doesn't heat up. Found out the circuit board burned out (relay?). Found out that the Insignia model had the exact same board. Took me a little while to swap the board and it's working like new.
Lots of these are the same components. Could be a part that burned out after usage. They don't make things the same as they use to anymore.
EDIT: Also I find that you don't really need to pre-heat these to cook anything. You just have to figure out the timing from it starts to heat up and fully cooked. Pretty much if it said 10 min on for 400F, I'll stick things in and turn it on for 7-8 min and it'll be cooked.
Still interested in this as a replacement for my Breville which still runs strong after 5 years (900 series pro) when it finally dies, they are difficult to repair, while this one seems easier.
I'm looking for something that combines a toaster and my air fryer and doesn't take up so much counter space and also doesn't require heating inside a plastic shell - which my current basket style air fryer is like. It works amazingly well for what I want (heating up Trader Joe's frozen stuff and veggies), but I don't like the idea of putting food inside a plastic compartment that gets really hot and having multiple units for different things is annoying.

We also have a large Gourmia All in One 14 Quart Air Fryer/oven/rotisserie/dehydrator (Walmart December deal for $50) which is the primary "air fryer" and oven, as we don't use the large built in ovens very often now. This Gourmia one works fine for air fryer even though it's not a basket style and it's large enough to bake 8" or small cakes too. We haven't tried rotiserrie or dehydrating on it. Surprisingly, this Gourmia 14 quart is almost the same outer size dimension as our old 8 quart Gourmia basket style air fryer that we passed to our son.
We've looked at the Breville ovens and they seem very nice, but can't justify several hundreds more when our current flash toaster and air fryer ovens work fine for our needs. The only major drawbacks is that these two appliances take up space, but it's something that we can live with and the old Panasonic flash oven is still working great for almost 10 years. If it breaks and the fix isn't easy, then I'd consider replacing it at that time and maybe with this newer Panasonic version.
