Build quality is okay but battery life is not great. I get 7 to 10 days, with light vehicle traffic being in a residential area, and I look at the video steam no more than a few minutes a day. Never use its lights, so I can't really reduce power usage any further. And it stopped motion detection and notification when the battery dropped to about 20%.
I do like the wide viewing angle. I might try hard wiring power with a power adapter I bought from Amazon today, will see how that goes, but it means moving it a few feet away from its current ideal position and drilling another hole in the house's exterior wall into the living area. I don't have good access to send the power through the existing door bell wiring.

So, your existing door bell wiring isn't sufficient to power the doorbell? (Or, did you not wire it in using that in the first place?)

It's an older home so instead of trying to use the limited power, which might have helped extending battery run time, I left the old bell functional. I did do the hard wire today using a 24 VAC adapter from Amazon and it's working fine. Glad not to have to deal with keeping the battery charged. It takes several hours to charge the battery. Even if I bought a second battery for quick swaps, there's always a chance of dropping the camera onto concrete during a swap one of these days given it needs to be done almost 50 times a year even in rain and snow. If my battery lasted a month or two between charges I might have just left it alone.

Edit: corrected stated voltage and adding link to the AC adapter. [amazon.com]
