For a little more, I think DL 110 may be better.

I installed mine back in January. I paid $100 then. My battery is at 92% and I haven't charged since day 1. I have no complaints so far.

This looks like a new model, positioned between the basic button smart lock (D100) and the fingerprint touchpad smart lock (D110). It brings the fingerprint sensor and the replaceable/rechargeable battery (smaller capacity) from the flagship (D110).

Really happy with my D110, you can also get package deals with a smart video doorbell (add a MicroSD card, and you have $0 subscription 24/7 recording). So, spot check price on these package deals.

Here's a google summary of the difference between the D105 & D110:
"The Tapo DL110 is the flagship, more robust model featuring BHMA Grade 2 certification, IP65 weatherproofing, and a 10,000 mAh battery, while the Tapo DL105 is a slightly more affordable alternative with BHMA Grade 3, IP54 rating, and a 7,800 mAh battery. Both offer fingerprint, app, keypad, and key entry with built-in doorbells, but the DL110 is better for extreme weather and superior security."

How does this compare to a Schlage? I like that this is much cheaper.

Honestly the physical buttons are better on this. I have the DL110. Very hard to see in direct sunlight and rain

I have the next model up. Excellent. Battery lasts a long time, wifi works well and can be disabled if you want and only use bluetooth. Has wifi scheduling, jam alerts, tamper alerts, every feature you could want. They can integrate with home assistant (my model can at least) if you have a smartthings hub.

I assume you mentioned the smartthings hub because you are turning off wifi? I have a smartthings hub although I try not to use it as they are no longer as friendly to devs as they used to be (ie no ability to script your own driver for devices they don't support out of the box).

Home assistant and I don't seem to get along. I REALLY want to use it and have local automation but need a Home Assistant for Dummies because I do NOT find it intuitive and I'm a retired programmer. the whole MQTT stuff confuses me.

I can run home assistant os in a proxmox vm now so it's a little bit more friendly than the "core" version.

Oh anyone know if you can have multiple deadbolts keyed to the same key?

It's great that the battery is replaceable, but I don't see that it's sold anywhere!

I bought and installed the DL110 door lock last year. Just got notification to recharge the battery. The only draw back is that you can't buy a replacement / backup battery. Having an extra battery to swap out immediately is something that I would need / prefer because it is not installed in my own home. That being said if it was in my own home then it would not be a problem and I would not hesitate to buy the DL110 again.

I have the DL110 and bought it about a year ago. Last week I charged the battery for the first time since installing it.
It's not just marketing, it's actually a year-long battery. This is a different model so it may be slightly different, but it's definitely not an exaggeration.
