Charmin Ultra Soft Forever Roll is a giant-roll starter kit that stands out for the included brushed stainless steel holder and the convenience of fewer roll changes. The paper itself gets praise for feeling soft and smooth, and the setup can work well with bidets or as a long-lasting household supply. The main pushback is value, since the kit is repeatedly compared unfavorably on a per-sheet basis against Costco, standard Charmin, and other rolls. The oversized roll and bulky stand also draw complaints, making it a quirky space-hungry option rather than a simple bargain.

I've had a Charmin forever roll subscription for three years. I'm locked in on a price and it gets delivered to my door. I can choose to delay. My subscription. Have it every three months every six months but I will tell you I was the person that was constantly running to the grocery store and picking up at today's price or the high price during Covid for toilet paper. The forever roll takes 2 to 3 weeks for my household to go through it so I'm not chasing rolls all over the house to make sure they are full.
Amazon doesn't lock in prices for subscriptions, how are you doing this?

It's 3400 sheets of tp (1700 sheets per roll), vs the Costco brand pack which is only a few bucks more and has 11,400 sheets (30 rolls, 380 sheets per). Costco still wins even with the coupon discount.
Thank you, I was looking to see how much I could get from this vs. costco.

That roll is comically large. Someone at Charmin was having fun with their job and some dunce in upper management thought they were serious, so here we are with a toilet paper roll the size of a car rim.
Hmmm, get four of them, and make a sortof 'go cart' of toilet paper. That's repurposing it. Smilie

Totally understand that part but the suggestion people make to "get a bidet" makes it sound like you can eliminate the TP because it's in every single TP thread. I can get it if it was for wet-wipes thread or something else, but not needing large amount is not relevant, although this roll is ridiculous for any household. It also comes up with regular TP threads, no matter how good the deal is "get a bidet"... i get it as public service announcement, but no, bidet does not replace the TP, which is also why a lot of people push back on bidet. Meanwhile any water is better than dry wipe any given day! Especially if it's one of those good ones.I meant wiping to make sure it's clean, like how can you tell it cleaned everything without wiping? You all have some kind of special diet that makes super smooth doodoo? woot
A bidet will make your toilet paper budget drop CONSIDERABLY.

If you checked the cost of a stand-alone toilet paper holder like the one offered in this package on Amazon, you'll realize you're getting the 2 rolls almost for free.

I was going to say the same thing. I also have a bidet, but I have to use some toilet paper to dry my rear end. I have one of those expensive bidets that has a light, different spray settings, heated seat, heated water and a fan that's suppose to dry your private parts. The fan is not strong enough to dry anything. We'll maybe if I sit there for 30mins. I don't like putting on my pants with a damp rear end..
Do you use the same amount of TP to dry your clean butt off as you used to wipe before having a bidet?

Our family sure doesn't.

If anyone is serious about this, this is what a little research with AI said to do.
Get this deal for the stand and the starter two rolls then switch to Georgia-Pacific envision jumbo Junior bathroom tissue. The cost per 1,000 ft $6.75 regular price found at Lowe's for $54 a case total length of 8000 ft.

That's not the cheapest jumbo roll tissue (JRT) available but it's double ply, perforated and septic safe. It is not "quilted".

Basically broke it down to the Georgia-Pacific envision jumbo Jr at $6.75 per thousand ft is superior in savings to Kirkland signature brand providing roughly 20% more paper for every dollar spent. That's the Kirkland signature 30 roll pack.

It puts the average price at $54 15.7 lb for a case of eight Georgia-Pacific with Costco Kirkland signature 30 roll pack between $20.99 and $23.49 The cost per pound for the Georgia-Pacific is $3.44 per pound and the Costco Kirkland signature at $2.10 to $2.35 per pound. The price per thousand ft is about $8.40 for Kirkland compared to the $6.75 Georgia-Pacific. Even though the Georgia Pacific is heavier more fiber per inch it provides over 20% more usable length for your money over the Costco 30 pack.

With the Kirkland paper it is saying recent "shrinkflation" has affected the Costco value. AI says it went from 425 to 380 sheets per roll and narrowed them which increases the price by 15% per foot. But it's saying that's regional at this time. Of course all you slick dealers know that already. The town I moved to does not have a Costco so I haven't had Costco deals in a while.

Now with all that said what I see for $20 is a pretty decent looking floor headphone stand that comes with two giant rolls of toilet paper.
