I went for the gopro. It's almost $100 cheaper and has replaceable lenses which I think is a great feature. The low-light performance isn't as good, but I plan to use it in the day anyway so technically the gopro is better with full 8k resolution.

I bought the GoPro Max 2 but ended up returning it. The low-light performance was disappointing and awkward to manage; visibility was nearly zero. Don't expect to get any usable footage in low light. Thanks.

Most 360 cams are bad in low-light unfortunately. That said, the gopro is probably one of the worst.
