BTW can someone answer this question. Can Metro By T-mobile Locked phones be switched between accounts? Like if I give my locked Metro phone to my friend. Can he use it and vise versa? Because one prefers iOS the other Android. Both phones from Metro By T-mobile and currently locked to it.
Yes, but you have to involve CS. Your IMEI is locked to your account for technical and safety reasons. You both have to call in, separately, remove, then add the swapped phones.

you can try doing it thru the online portal, but it has a high failure or error rate.

OK got it. I think the best way to do it is to use 3rd unlocked spare phone. Use 3rd IMEI to get locked IMEI out of system then switch. I think this is how it works.. in my mind.

They are back in stock now. Just keep checking back periodically throughout the day.

Google Voice for $3. I've seen ppl try free options, but I've never been able to get it to work and dont know any by heart.
I've always wondered if you port a Google Voice number to a phone, does it still work as a Google Voice number?

No. Porting a number means disconnecting it from one service and attaching it to another.

Why are you porting when phone is free with a new line?

Isn't the Straight Talk phone at Walmart for $30 with 60 days of Tracfone service a faster & cheaper way to get it unlocked? Is that option no longer working?

You need to provide govt id to get a Google voice number. So it is intrusive and limited. Used to be free of I'd requirements.

I don't see the deal. When I click on the link it only brings me to the phone for $259. I am doing this from a website.
You have to continue to next step, then select the $65 monthly plan, then continue again, the next page you'll see the full price deducted, and only $65 payment needed. It's also found in their Deals -> Free Phones menu on the webpage, where the detailed terms link provide description of what's required to get this combo.

You have to pay for a full year of service and it will then unlock after the year is up. With Metro it should automatically unlock after one year and you only have to pay for one month.

Anyone having trouble with the website? Last night, I was trying to add this phone to my account, and it was going to be $35 at checkout without porting in a number. Got to the end, and it didn't work, later I kept trying to use the website and they keep having technical difficulties.
