You're getting downvotes but you're completely right. The "performance" at the end not only ruins the entire movie but it drags on so long it's boring.

I totally agree, the ending pushed the movie into the sci-fi category and animated, they could end the movie with the main protagonist just shut herself inside in disfigured form while watching the poster of herself in all her beauty outside the window.
Otherwise, it's a really good movie; it's nice to see that I was not the only one who felt the ending was disastrous.

It's been a while since I watched it but I wasn't paying much attention to the realism of her apartment, just what was happening to her... which was kind of a unique concept and crazy idea. It seemed almost believable even though it was obviously impossible. But then the movie stopped taking itself seriously. If it was supposed to be a bad dream that turned into a crazy nightmare, then I think they just did a bad job of presenting it that way. I was taking it as real and when I saw everybody ignoring reality at the end that's where I lost all interest.
