FWIW, this is the longest passive USB4 80Gbps length allowed: 1.5 meters.

To be clear, 1.5m is the longest passive 80Gbps cable that has been certified. Theoretically if a longer cable can pass the test specification then it can also be certified, but I'm sure we're very close to the attainable limit with today's mass-produced materials. Over the last few years we've gone from the longest certified passive 40/80Gbps passive cables being 1m to 1.2m to 1.5m.

The same cable under another brand can be had new at Amazon for $19 - both are white labels of a cable made by CE LINK, a well-known cable manufacturer.

I hate how almost all hubs/docks have fixed short cables. Rather have an input port for the cable.

It's the most expensive part of the hub usually; shorter wires mean they don't have to spend as much to insure signal integrity.
Thunderbolt/USB 4 docks usually don't have fixed wires though.
