The UI is a bit convoluted if using the side switch.

The tail switch is pure on/off.

There is also a dual: side + tail switch mode too.

There's a GENERAL OPERATIONs workflow chart 1/4 of the way down on this site:

Of all sofirn lights, I dislike buying these multi-select mode lights. It's just annoying to not have the mode you want instantly like the other sofirn lights.
I'd pass.

Absolutely and apparently the black one provides higher lumens than the green sp31v3 from previous deals

I bought mine for around $23 on amazon from a deal posted here. I love it just be careful on the highest setting because it will burn fabric and potentially start a fire.

Emphatically, YES. I paid something just north of $20. for mine years ago. It's a steal at $14. Not the best light you can get, but it is for $14. to my knowledge. Repped, OP.

I'd say yes depending on what you need it for. Picked one up on a previous deal (to keep in car) at a slightly higher price and it punches well above its weight. Will probably grab another one at this price. Some might not prefer the toggle of modes if you plan to carry or use daily, but as "stash in the glove box" flashlight I love it.

I have one in green with the slightly dimmer 519a high CRI emitter. It may be a two-button interface, but it's still really easy to use. The tail switch turns the light on to whatever brightness you used last, which is intuitive enough. Once it's on, the side switch lets you cycle how bright you want it. Easy.
The only "trick" mode is for moonlight/firefly mode, where you push both buttons at the same time so you don't engage the last used brightness and ruin your night vision - if that's a frequent use case for you it isn't hard to remember.
I find it's a little too big to be in my pocket all day, but I keep it by the door in my house. Very good feeling in hand, just wish it came with a reversible clip to mount it on a baseball cap.

Thanks OP. I love this flashlight. I've standardized on it at this point. It has nice large easy to press buttons, which is great when wearing gloves. I've used some others which tiny buttons that are near impossible to find when wearing gloves. My only complaint is that it's a little larger than I'd like.

I like the simple on/off interface, with the secondary button for adjusting brightness, doesn't get much simpler than that. It has strobe, and moonlight, and yadayada other junk I don't care about, but I never accidentally find them, which is important to me. I keep one in all my vehicles, and next to the front door.

The only problem is I _hate_ buying anything from aliexpress, it's always such a shady experience. But whatever, I went for it. Looks like black is sold out, so I went for green. I've been wanting to try the different LED color anyway.

Thanks!

If it's any consolation, this is a legit seller. I've made a dozen purchases from them over the last year, and all have arrived (most of them ahead of schedule).
