So it requires your PC to have display over USBC and then your laptop / PC is connected to this - the HDMI out becomes active.

The Wavlink RapidFire is a 4 bay SATA enclosure that doubles as a USB C hub with HDMI output, making it appealing for a desk or home server setup. The enclosure can be useful for fast backups, RAID with SSDs, or a Steam Deck style dock, and the individual drive power switches stand out. The HDMI output depends on USB C display support and may only mirror in some setups. The 10Gbps limit, separate 2.5 inch adapters, and reports of noisy cooling, hot drives, and occasional drive detection issues are the main drawbacks.
The HDMI output can work as an alternate display over USB-C when the connected PC supports display over USB-C.
The enclosure can support a desk setup for gaming or streaming use cases with 4K output at 60Hz as a baseline requirement.
The enclosure may be useful for fast backup workflows when drives are configured for higher combined throughput.
The enclosure can deliver good read speed for home server or HTPC style use.
The HDMI alt-display behavior may not function or may only mirror when the user's system already provides alternate display over USB-C.
The enclosure can limit performance to 10Gbps, which may feel inadequate for users expecting higher throughput.
Drive compatibility can be problematic, including reports of drives not being detected or dropping out after installation.
The cooling system can be noisy and drives can run hot, and firmware support may be unavailable when issues arise.

HDMI 4K@60hz is a minimum must, but would be nice if it could do 120hz.
Needing 2.5" adapters that are sold-seperately is very not nice.
Individual drive power switches isn't something I ever thought about needing, until now. Thats a pretty cool feature.
Still for $100..
Edit: I can't find this thing anywhere on Wavlink's site. That's a dealbreaker for me.

Would enable ultra-fast data backups as well.
