Yeah, my first thought after seeing the HDMI port and USB-C passthrough for a dock was "This would be nice for a laptop. Too bad it would cost $2k to fill it properly."

So Allll that space... and you don't even give it 2x2 and kneecap it at 10gbps? Pathetic. It's 2026, 20gbps is the bare minimum anymore.

Tempting. Very tempting. This would look great on my desk attached to a Steam Deck.
HDMI 4K@60hz is a minimum must, but would be nice if it could do 120hz.
Needing 2.5" adapters that are sold-seperately is very not nice.
Individual drive power switches isn't something I ever thought about needing, until now. Thats a pretty cool feature.
Still for $100..

Edit: I can't find this thing anywhere on Wavlink's site. That's a dealbreaker for me.

The HDMI function as an alt-display over USB. That's important to note because if someone already has an alt-display in their setup, this other HDMI output would either not function at all, or only function in mirror mode.

I like the utilitarian form factor of this enclosure. I'm considering buying it just b/c, but before I do, I need to look at some reviews. Anybody w/ experience using one of these would like to chime in regarding their experience?

If I was going to utilize this thing(not necessary yet) I Would be RAIDing 4 SSD's. This would yield a combined throughput of approx. 20gbps, competing with basic M.2 drives and enough oomph to run games and stream off without significant bottlenecks.
Would enable ultra-fast data backups as well.
