For those being downvoted, don't be gaslit. I tested a unit last year, post scandal manufacture. Same Redline clone malware, same custom install of Chrome with browser hijackers, same custom Windows with exploits on the recovery partition. Even a nuked clean reinstall of Windows I would not trust. It is trivial to deploy exploits to firmware, and I would not put it past this company for a single second.
Same goes for Kamrui, which is yet another AceMagic sub-brand with the same malware. There's a reason these brands are being constantly posted here, and it's not consumers finding deals...

This Kron K1 mini PC stands out as a compact Ryzen 7 7735HS box with 24GB LPDDR5 and a 512GB SSD, and the price looks strong against recent mini PC deals and the cost of DDR5 memory alone. The 24GB soldered memory and integrated Radeon 680M make it appealing for light gaming, retro emulation, media streaming, Linux server use, and even local AI experiments. The main drawbacks are the non expandable RAM, the modest 512GB drive, and the 1GbE network port. Brand trust also comes up because of past malware and warranty concerns, so a clean Windows install is often treated as part of the setup.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, the price is viewed as strong for the specs, especially because 24GB DDR5 alone can cost over $200 and a similar-spec Kamrui Hyper H1 was $395 recently. The main caveat is that the same Kron K1 name has been used for different configurations, so the exact specs need to be checked before comparing past prices.
No. The 24GB LPDDR5 is soldered directly to the motherboard, so it is not removable or upgradeable. That makes the configuration fixed at purchase, which matters if you expect to need more RAM later.
The included 512GB SSD is usable, but 1TB is a more practical target because modern apps can exceed 100GB each. The motherboard can handle a Gen 4 M.2 drive, so an upgrade can also improve storage speed if the bundled drive is Gen 3.
No, the NIC is only 1GbE. If wired network speed matters, that is a limitation compared with mini PCs that include 2.5GbE.
Yes. The Ryzen 7 7735HS with integrated Radeon 680M can share the 24GB of RAM between system use and graphics, which makes it a workable entry point for local AI experiments.

(Not saying this is what's happening here, but most/all FP deals on SD nowadays are posted by the actual sellers disguised as "random users").
Given the fact there are some much personal data on it, not worth the risk....YMMV!!!

The products have the same name/model "Kron K1" but just different specs hence why it's being shown in that list. It's common here that's why it's better to click on it and check.
Saying this was cheaper without any verification negatively affects the deal and misguides the members here.
Acemagic: "Our software developers, in an effort to enhance user experience by reducing initial boot time, made adjustments to the Microsoft source code, including network settings, without obtaining software digital signatures, and the RGB lighting control software was also without one. This oversight led to isolated reports of virus-infected mini PCs manufactured before November 18, 2023."
They were lax in their digital signature network security a couple of years ago when trying to make their slow devices faster. That resulted in viruses able to get onto systems. There was no hardware or software "malware" installed, the digital security software has long since been strengthened, and there have been no repeats of the problem.
The issue was that they wrote this off as a network configuration and custom rgb issue but never addressed the fact that inspecting firewall traffic resulted in seeing an insanely high volume of data going back to ace magic subsidiaries. Unless their rgb fix was cloud dependent (its not) there's no reason for that volume of data to be phoning back home like that. People hyped up the false virus reports. You could just extract the drivers and then reinstall Windows, if you're concerned.
It would be better to stick to facts in the present tense, with the present device, such as information on whether it lives up to its stated specs and prices.
