Ego has a discharge feature to keep the longevity of the battery healthy. If I remember correctly if it hasn't been used for a month it will discharge to 50%

Ego products have been really solid for me so far. As many say, not common to buy JUST a battery but if you have a larger yard, batteries with other accessories aren't always same V/Ah [The two that came with my snowblower were lower Ah]
