What's the point of cast iron saucepan for home cooking? What advantage it has over stainless steel? I can see clear disadvantage in maintenance. And in case you are going to cook acidic sauce (tomatoes) for any length of time, it will dissolve all seasoning into a sauce, which isn't very healthy and will require re-seasoning every time.

I use this for sauce on my grill/smoker. Also great when camping. I know you said home but those are still two uses. Melting butter, queso. Clean up isn't really that pick of a deal. Much easier than when you accidentally burn something on stainless.
