Just a heads up, these are the older models have been sitting around tractor supply stores for years. I purchased one that turned out to be open box and the power stacked battery had been replaced with the regular XR 5 AH battery.

I would wager most of you would prefer Dewalt PowerPACK batteries vs: PowerSTACK (these). These are a little bit older tech and I would not use these for high power usage (using for reciprocating saw to cut cast iron, SDS to drill into solid 4000+ PSI concrete with rebar, etc.... )

That kit you listed is also 1/3 the size, 1.7ah and the one in this SD listing is 5ah.
This one is the same as this listing and significantly more expensive: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BPK11KXY

I don't think this is accurate.

the stacked(powerstack) lithium can output more power than tabless(powerpack) cylinders but obviously a 1.7ah or 5ah wont last in pure runtime as long as a larger 8ah battery

I have multiple of both. I prefer the Powerstack in my small hand tools. They actually have more power and are smaller. I have two new powerpacks that I run lights and vacuums on.

Check the year of mfr. Batteries should be charged within 2 years of mfr year. Received 2 packaged batteries mfr year 2022 from HD. Not charged for 4 years. Returned to HD. Can only expect 60% of lifespan.

Oh yeah, probably some $15 an hour person who gives less cares. I try to avoid TC at all cost, very rarely have a good experience.

the second part is complete nonsense. powerstack batteries are still powerstacks. the only thing that changed is the sticker that now says "XR powerstack". inside they are exactly the same.

"regular XR 5 AH batteries" have been rebranded too, they are now labelled as just 20v max 5ah. they lost the XR branding. but again, inside they are exactly the same.

HAVING SAID THAT, you are correct that they are the older models from before their stupid rebrand they did in 2024. these have probably been kicking around for 2+ years
