if this deal works, it's a pretty great deal on some great filament. i've used a few spools, have never had any issues even printing before running any calibrations.

Great deal! If I didn't already have way too many rolls I'd be in for one.

I don't get it. Please explain "too many roll". This makes no sense.

I would avoid these cardboard spools if you have a CFS. Even Creality recommends against using these in their CFS: "Filaments with paper spools are not recommended for use in CFS or other multi-color boxes." The way they package it often warps the cardboard, which could cause trouble as the CFS tries to roll it. The cardboard could also slowly degrade as it rolls, causing cardboard dust to accumulate in the CFS and can potentially take a ride on your filament all the way to the hot end.

I got in on this deal before I got a CFS, and now that I have one, I regret it a bit. Admittedly, I have not personally tried a cardboard spool in my CFS, but I've seen enough horror stories to not even try. Or you can get/print replacement plastic spools, which is what I do, but it's just one more thing to worry about.

I went with these rolls instead and got 10 rolls for $83 bucks or so. Also no cardboard spools on these. Filament is OK. Nothing special but at $8.30 per roll and the ability to pick out colors, it was easy to get to 10 rolls.

I had the same problem, and I also really like this filament so I ended up making two separate fixes for this for when I end up finding deals on the cardboard rolls.

1. A replacement spool specifically designed for Hyper PLA cardboard. You just rip one side off, insert this then rip the other side off and screw it in. https://www.crealitycloud.com/mod...-cardboard
2. A lightly knurled adapter ring, also designed specifically for this spool. https://www.crealitycloud.com/mod...urled-edge

I don't know about you but I had terrible experiences with Soleyin filament. I got few rolls on sale from Amazon and they have been mostly headache. I love the matte, pastel colors but these blasted things refuse to stick to build plates. I tried it on my k1 max with both glacial and frostbite plates (among others). 1/2 of the time I get spaghetti at some point.

I also tried it with Snapmaker and the purple I had refused to stick to my rather large dragon in 1/2 of places. Lucky it was just an accent color so I was able to salvage it but I get annoyed every time I look at the dragon. I'll ride the roll out on "no ams" models but never again unless someone is giving it away. Then maybe.

Ended up purchasing 10 rolls of hyper in the post. I had good experiences with a roll of white that came with my k1 max and cardboard spools do not bother the U1.

I have had a few rolls no issues. Cheaper is better for me. I don't care which spool either running A1 with AMS now but want the U1 soon. I am not that concerned at 8.30 a roll.

Maybe just my luck. Glad to hear it's working for you. U1 is awesome, you wouldn't be disappointed.
