The newer MSI Raider 16" HX were $2299 earlier this week. This is $400 more for an older model.

That was not 18", neither did it have a 4K+ display, nor was it a mini-LED, and top of that the processor was much inferior to this. So, not comparable at all. Just because this was released in 2025 does not make it old, as many might say that it's still better spec'd than that 2026 16" HX. Not to mention this also comes with 3 freebies and is not limited to Micro Center in-store pickup.

I believe you are confused :

The MSI Raider A18 HX A9W, featuring an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor, was unveiled at CES 2025 on January 7, 2025. The newer MSI raider 16" (Which I was refrencing) was unveiled at CES 2026 on January 6, 2026.

MSI Raider 16 Max HX B2WI-003US OLED SPECS:

Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX (2.7GHz) Processor
32GB DDR5-6000 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Graphics Card
1TB PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe M.2 SSD
16" OLED Display

I am not confused, neither was this the point I was making. I know what laptop/deal you were referring to because I posted that too. Read my comment again and you should understand. The two devices are not eligible to be compared to begin with because of their significantly different size and form factor. Everything else comes later. Like I said, as an overall gaming laptop, this MSI Raider A18 HX is far better.

You're arguing with the internet and CES 2026. CES 2026 released a brand new laptop on brand new architecture with the same video card, just to be inferior to an older model???

There's a reason this 18 in on clearance. This 18" doenst even support 300w sustained. the 16" I posted supports 300W sustained essentially, the 18" is dead in the water.

MAX TDP of the 18" you're fighting over is 175w GPU and 55w CPU (Last Year's model)

MAX TDP of the 16" is 175w GPU and 125w CPU (Currrent Gen)
