Hello all,

First time posting a deal. Best Buy dropped the price of "Fair" condition LG G5 55" TVs down to $738.99 AND they're including a $100 gift card, which makes this around $638.99. This is an incredible deal for one of the best TVs on the planet! Thought some gamers looking for a midsize TV would be happy with this deal! If you have Best Buy Total Membership, you get 2 free years of warranty including burn-in protection (which is a non-issue IMHO).

Enjoy!

This open box LG G5 55 inch OLED deal stands out for a very low price with a $100 gift card, and the panel itself can look excellent when the unit is in good shape. Several pickups came with low hours, clean screens, and usable remotes or wall mounts, and the G5 brightness was praised as a big upgrade. The main risk is condition roulette, with some display units showing 5,000 to 6,000 hours, missing accessories, or visible burn in. Checking hours and powering it on in store is the safest way to judge whether the specific unit is worth the trip.

Have you checked for burn in? Even a burned in monitor looks pretty good normally. If you display a grey field, do you see any burn in? There are YT videos that do this to make it easy. It would have been great to know if you had any visible burn in doing it this way before the pixel cleaning. To see if the pixel cleaning would have fixed it.
Well it had some minor red splotching in the center area where the demos were playing logos or the images were brighter. I'm not sure the exact procedure I did or how many times it actually did the pixel cleaning but I'm happy to say all of that cleared up after I left the TV plugged in. So it was at least one pixel cleaning that was done and it worked to clear that up. But it wasn't a permanent burned in logo or anything. My OLED care settings that the TV had when I checked it out this afternoon were the defaults with logo brightness on low and screen move on.

Decided to just cancel while picking up, clearly display model - marked as "good", no wall mount, no remote, I don't think I even saw a power cord I think. Not worth the hassle of taking home to test

The power cord is attached to the tv

Well. Someone is gonna pick it up later for me since it won't fit in my coupe, but I just checked out the one I bought listed in good condition. I must have gotten lucky. Came with the remote. Only 235 hours. No wall mount which is fine since I already have a universal stand.

Update: It would have fit in the back of my G37 coupe standing up in the back floor. Mine was just bubble wrapped. Just didn't want to risk it getting banged up since I didn't have any blankets or anything with me

Picked mine up yesterday. It was a display model wrapped in bubble wrap. No remote or mount. 6202 hours on it. I'm going to return it. That's way too many hours.
The 55 LG G1 I have now will be 4 years old in August and it has 4400 hours. There are around 8700 hours in a year.

Was going to get my girlfriend the 48" B5 for our one-year anniversary since she wanted a new TV. This popped up and I took a swing on the one locally.

Almost missed out on it, by the time I got there it was OOS online. Turns out someone had bought it that morning, found out it had no stand and decided "no thanks." I got lucky in that they put this one in the home theater room and kept it off most of the time, at least according to them. Still had the original display wrapper on it. Got it home and checked it out--didn't check hour count but had zero burn-in of any type. Didn't get a remote, but the guy in store said it would come with one. Went back and the dude found it in the home theater room and handed it over.

A cheap $20 stand off of Amazon and my girlfriend gets a better bedroom TV than her living room one, lol.
Edit: checked and 2200 hrs.

The one i picked up has 1750 hrs no burn in, decent uniformity after doing tests. No remote but I had a lg remote that works on the g5. There is a white scratch less than 1 cm on the bottom left of the screen. Only saw it when I was cleaning the screen while the screen was black/turned off. Pretty much can't see it during normal use. Annoyed that bb employee scratched it. But I think I am keeping. Even if i sell the tv in the future, I won't take too much of a lost. G5's brightness is a huge upgrade from early C series. I think I prefer this even over the 65" c5 price glitch with 3 extra yrs of allstate warranty.

Data point: no mount, no box, remote had crumbles of food lodged between buttons. Staff was actually cool with great attitudes and let me power on in store. 2300 hours of use. I passed.

Did anyone buy this listed as an "Excellent" condition? If so, what was your experience like? Thanks.

Price now at 1500+, the one I returned still available, who on their right mind would pay 1200 or more in these conditions

If you have a older magic remote it works just fine on the G5. You just won't be able to use the mouse pointer
